Yeah, I'd stick to the south side - on the north you've got either the goat-trail to get down to the Cannons or the gully to jump across onto Hairy Ness - neither of which would probably suit a 14 year old (and have even been known to give more seasoned anglers the wobbles!).

Gary :)

Cheers lads just never fished there before so fancy trying for a cod and do a little bit spinning while I'm there fancy the cannons

just park on the road next to golf course on the southside there are paths over the golf course to the marks ,at the end of the path you can go left or right till you find one that suits, dont attempt it if its raining, forcast for w/elooking good. davy

Cheers Davy always wanted to fish it so going Thursday got a load of fresh crab coming so that's where I'm heading so fingers crossed il find somewhere to fish up there but no doubt il get lost lol

There is an easy mark on the north side just past the cannons down from the caravan park, yer can park in the caravan park car park near the cliffs for £3 (get ticket at reception) and the marks just a few minutes walk away. As yer walking north along the cliff path away from the car park after a couple of hundred yards keep looking down and you'll see a sort of slab below, this is the mark. Easy scramble down if it's dry. It will hoy up cracking wrasse, codling , coalies, flatties etc. You only need a short lob and I've found crab best. Good luck mate.

You can get to the flat rock below the cannons from the bay by walking a long the bottom of the cliff a couple of hours before low water, better than climbing down the goat track with the young'n
