Eyemouth

Heading up to Eyemouth for the day on monday to collect the wife from her parents, so wondered what the fishing was like up there at the minute? also, if it is any good - does anyone know of any child friendly marks up there as my 7 year old will be coming out with me.

Ive been up a couple of times alot of it involves getting down steep cliffs im not sure about any other marks, someone else might know of a few places you could take the bairn but i wouldn't take mine.

Coalies etc in the harbour mate... Very lift gear down the sides and the young un will catch

If you can go bit further m8 a would try abbs harbour , easy pickings for the bairn . They seem to congregate in the corners of the harbour where there is plenty of seaweed/debris floating around

Always wondered if I could fish from Eyemouth harbour - never seen anyone do it while I have been there. So you saying just drop the line down the side and wait? That's handy like as her mum only lives five minutes walk from the harbour.

So is there anything worth keeping in there then?

St abbs harbour or eyemouth harbour? Don't think I will have time to hit st. abbs this time - but might give that a try next time I am up. Never been to St. Abbs, but the wife and mother in law reckon its a lovely place.

Hi mate yes theres plenty of coleys in the harbour all tiny mind lucky to get a one 1lb. Chance of a common eel also
They LOVE the herring. Dont get it from the tackle shop though, go to the fihmonger and he will cut it up into little bits for you a few quids worth and it is good fun if your fishing on ultra light gear - cereal box sort of gear I am talking
The tackle shop sells the tiny rods/reels combo for about £13 if I remember rightly.

Spot on for the kids, I would recommoned a little lob 10-30 yards and your fishing.

You can fish Eyemouth harbour but not sure how good it fishes, usually see people on the south side
Behind the caravan park can be decent and isn't too bad for getting there and back, I'll send you a PM with a bit more info on a map

Cool, that would be ideal - I shall give that a try and if we don't get any luck we will head round and try by the caravan park.
