Hi Guys
Have managed to get myself another place on "Famous" for this forthcoming Friday.
The area is still fishing well, I am reliably informed by Dave, the Skipper and owner and “Shadman”.
The intention is to up the weight of my PB cod of 14lb, ( Photo attached ) taken only a few weeks ago on the same boat, a day to remember, taking 30 fish ranging from 4lb to the 14lber, all prime clean codling.
Weather is looking favourable so everything is now crossed and the clock is ticking, report and photographs to hopefully follow.

would of been even better if you had let me know and I could of got it into my angling columns, let me know when you beat your PB, there have been cod to 17lb 8oz the past week.

Hi Alan, that’s a shame, would have been nice to see my name in print again, used to fish with Shiremoor Angling Club many moons ago with the likes of Alec Harvey, Colin Young et al and the reports were normally issued by Radio Newcastle, Dave Higgins if memory serves me correctly, still have a couple of C90 cassettes in the loft somewhere with our results on, and me taking 8th in the Whitley Bay Open one year when I still had hair.
Shore fishing was a lot better then and we would travel all over, Rhu Narrows, Loch Long etc.
I do consider myself a experienced angler of over 40years but I changed to boat fishing about 20 years ago, and travel around the country to various ports, Weymouth, Plymouth, Poole, Salcombe and into Northern Norway which was an experience in its self, so while I’m relatively new to posting messages, it may be probably why I didn’t realise you could have used my report on that particular day, I shall remember, rest assured my friend.
Keeping everything crossed for Friday
Kind regards
John Stoker

Hi Mitch, I can honestly recommend using "Famous" at Hartlepool if you can get on, weekends are very difficult to get single spaces which is why I go through the week, and being self employed helps as well.
Good Luck in breaking your PB

Hi Gary
Aye mate, shore fishing! all distant memories, good ones though. Certainly correct about the trawlers killing off the lochs, I can remember getting up one morning and the beach area at the top of arrochar was littered with dead fish, the locals informed us that the trawlers had been in through the night and that was what was left of their plundering, rotting dead undersize fish. They advised us to leave it for a day and they were right, we tried but got nothing that day and not a great week if memory serves. nothing seems to have changed unfortunately.
I would have liked to see your double double, not got a snap of phone quality anywhere?
Hope "Famous" fishes well today for you today my friend, take care and see you soon

Thanks Prawnstar, fingers crossed for tomorrow
