For your info the two lads and there dad live local,they have the same right as you to fish ,And they did leave with cod unlike you, You had heaviest bag of fish don't think so you only had ling the other lads had cod ,the lad in the back right hand corner had plenty of real fish (cod) and i had 12 cod myself
as for your fishing skills you were using your rod back to front and your reel upside down(BUY A LEFT HANDED REEL) with your 10 or so macky daylights hook point covered with a frozen prawn you must have been waiting for the fish to suck the prawn down ,also how many times were you told by the skipper to stop moving around the boat (poaching) BILL GRAGGS IS HIS NAME BE AWARE ALL CHARTER SKIPPERS HE IS A NIGHT MARE FROM HELL
i feel sorry for your son seems like a canny lad just fished happily away all day

you guys must be making a packet 1 grand to 2 more a week wish i was i am self employed also are you bill are you self employed or on benefits if doing free labour must declare bud thats the law .

if your that good why dont you charter your boat your getting then see where you fish when the drifts far to fast im new to boating but fish rough ground and not the wrecks if the drifts a bit quick been there and a lost loads of gear i think charter boat skippers know how when and where to fish after all its there buisness posts like yours dont help them most likely you will lose them buisness well done

been looking at a charter boat this week to buy but not sure how long will take to get license to take peeps out so if buy probs will miss this season .went out on the famous years ago trawler joe was skipper had huge catches with him believe he has passed away now but apart from him used to fish the esk star nearly every week skipper ian mac n mara and his dad had biggest cod from this boat to date .there were so many boats to choose from years ago had some nice fish from clemmys boat .how things have changed today.

your right im self employed (nothing to do with boats) and have been since the day i left school employing a number of folk over the years (paying my taxes ect) ,now taking it a bit easy enjoying my fishing and helping dave as a crew member (great guy and very good friend )good luck with your tickets bill and your charter boat

areet bill na good listening to this lot when it comes to being a perfect angler,i had the same problem a few year back,and the boat was wildcard i said what i wanted to him about trip and still got slagged off on hear.and i got charged for a platium trip which was s''t.but as you said you have a opion wether this lot like it or not.you get it off your chest m8 say what you want.not every one has a good experience when out on a charter boat.

The thing is lads if the wind is not right and the tide is not right you struggle on the wrecks (as we know),last week we marked some wrecks 100% with 1 cod for 3 wrecks we moved back to mark x and bang fish on, Tuesdays tides 5.1 we all know cod like movement so skipper found the fish,Even us lads with over 40 years exp would have struggled on the wrecks (and not had fish)so all in all,Not a bad day ,All the lads had fish ,The morral of the story when the fish are on the wrecks and weather right you go wrecking,Wonder wot the story would have been if we hit the wrecks all day ?????????????????????????????????

if you want to go fishing and don't have a boat, book a charter, if you like it book it again, if you don't like it, don't book it again,

if we go out and have a s***t day, which we have in the past we try again the next week... as said in previous posts, the skippers know their trade, sometimes they do well and have a good haul, sometimes not

not all trips suit everyone on board..


this site and members should accept that not all posts are positive...
