Was fishing the barrier on Saturday night, and fat cod came down to have a wee chat, the next thing we heard was a bit of a clatter and the muppet fishing a few yards further up from him was shouting something, when we had a walk up he said he'd pulled Fat cod's rod and reel into the drink, looking over the side there was about 2 foot of his rod showing out of the water, luckily that clown that pulled it into the drink was still tangled up with it so we were able to get it out, well mate you were lucky to get it back, even though the new saltist reel your lass bought for your early Xmas present is now scratched to bits

he should have known once he felt the extra weight as he was reeling in, but the lesson there is dont leave ya rod, unless ya asked someone to watch it while you were gone, or if there is nee body, strap ya rod to the hand rail, done that a few times in the past, just for safetys sake really.


But it could have been a lot worse he could have lost everything and have had to throw the kid ower to gan and bring it back

Agree the lad should a shouted up i think ive got ya mate, or if ya ganna leave your rod for a chat or a slash knock the drag back a bit and stick the ratchet on click click click will give ya a early warning might be enough time to grab it.

I know its a Bit of a sickner but he got his gear back and hes not alone a few lads have lost or damaged rods n reels this season in similar circumstances

TBH m8 I don't know which rod it was, we were more interested in the reel as he said it was an early Xmas present from their lass, he's still a very lucky bloke though.
