Fied Spool Reel Advice Please

Just wondered what type of fixed spool reel anyone on here uses and would they recomend it?.
I have recently just started back into sea fishing again after a break of around 10 years and I have bought a load of gear but I am thinking of upgrading the fixed spool reel that ive got to something better. It will be used for on piers and on the beeches etc. I know I should try a multiplier and have bought a new slosh to give it a go sometime but ive always liked the fixed spools.
cheers stew

Ive just packed in with fixed spools after nearly thirty years of telling myself I would never get on with multi's....long time wasted..... Best all round fixed spool in my opinion is The Diawa Emcast Evo which I still have as a"spare"..;). If you are on a tight buget the Okumas and Penns are decent reels..Andy..:)

Cheers lads just had a look at the daiwa one but there is a few models of it available so which model would be the best to go for andy?.
Cheers mick is the braid better for fixed spools rather than line?
Thanks stew

diawa emcast evo 5000, dogs nuts for around £50, other emcast models have a bail arm glitch . shimano ultegra 10000 are a tad better but more expensive:)

The braid is loads thinner than mono and superb at detecting bites. Its not cheap but i think its worth it.
I use braid on my boat reel and its 50lb. Looks like cotton thread.
As to the reels there is a superb choice and they can be as good as a multiplyer on the day.Especially with a 16 foot rod combo.
Something like this is the dogs bo--ocks.
