First Gate - 24/09/09

What I'm saying is anyone with half a brain would want to research and learn about the ecological setting that they fish in. Whether that's through peer based learning or picking up a book - whatever. Drifting through any pastime (whether gardening, birdwatching or fishing) is neither here nor there. If those anglers I saw had learnt elementary fish recognition they would not have had all that silly bother nor left people shocked with their cruelty (kicking a scorpion fish back into the sea). They, like you my friend, would have been well served picking up a book.

And because i was did take any risk and used a towel instead of handling a fish that i knew little about i have half only have half a brain ?? i do not profess to know everything about every fish i have encountered but i would still say its better to be safe than sorry. But clearly you must know much more than me so i am your humble student and i will never learn unless i ask questions so i put it to you again

are you saying then that myself and simon are fools for not "taken time to read about and thus recognise most common and visitor species to our waters"

if so i would say you comments are not "general and broad-based" and indeed are directed "explicitly or implicitly against your particular example"

if you are not saying then that myself and simon are fools for not "taken time to read about and thus recognise most common and visitor species to our waters" what make use the exception to the rule ???

I'm saying anyone who cannot recognise common shore species is wanting.
