Well I am writing this from the doghouse after ballsing up our intended Tighnabruaich trip, by somewhat over indulging in the wine last night and when the alarm went off at 545am, I couldn't lift my head off he pillow!! Oops, Mark was not a happy camper!
Four hours later I was dragged from my comfort blankets and shoved in a cold shower. Two strong black coffees, 2 bacon rolls and I was just about able to get to the ferry with Mr. Stroppy! As we had missed the only bus to Tighnabruaich, Blairmore it was and Mark was extremely grumpy with me!
As this is my first report, I was in charge of the camera, which is just as well as I had no make-up on and looked a bit bedraggled!
Off the ferry and onto the bus. I love the journey, about 12 miles each way and only £4.50 return, the fare hasn't risen in four years! You drive along the coast, all around the Holy Loch and part the way up Loch Long.

Surprisingly the pier was a bit busy today, two regulars from Edinburgh, a 150 mile round trip! A guy from the caravan park, who had a 13ft beachcaster, and a Penn 15 fathom with a power handle. Seemed like over kill to me! I love my light spinning rod and just a spinner, none of those strings of feathers for me.

Anyway I was most amused by the fact that Mark was casting about 10 yards further than Mr. Beachcaster man with his 9ft spinning rod, hilarious!
Fishing was slow for most of us, I think the alcohol in my blood was negating the pheronomes and I was getting nothing, but Mark and beachcaster man were catching a few, primarily because they were casting twice the distance of the rest of us!
I was getting quite annoyed, as I am not used to being out fished, so I eventually swallowed my pride and asked Mark to cast for me. He gave me a two word reply, the second of which was off! I guessed he was still cross with me! He did of course cast for me eventually and I got my first Mackerel of the season and then another three, so happy enough with that.
Mark had about twenty, of which he kept maybe half and shook the rest of the hook. We take the trebles of out spinners and replace the with a single hook to give the fish a fighting chance on release.
So for once the old guy beat me, but considering I couldn't get out of bed this morning, it would have been rude to catch more than him!!
Thought they had re-opened the Post Office, but no, has now been converted to a holiday let.

A nice yacht, that's owner didn't seem to realise that he was too near the pier, so wee had to wind in fast!

The things you seen on the way home.......................makes a change from walking the dog I suppose.

Right I'm off to make the tea, I have a feeling Mark will cast today up to me for weeks on end!!
