Pike is generally a winter fish mate, this is when they feed, get big in preparation for spawning.
After spawning and during warm temperatures they become fragile and if they are on the feed they can engulf the bait straight into there stomaches causing problems. Warm, shallow and low oxygenated waters can kill them too if played hard.
If you want to start start now or if look into lure fishing, plenty of info in the lure section.
Great fish mb, hopefully I'll have a few reports on myself this year, av taken up pikn (first year) with the help of a mate who's showing me the ropes, gona join a few clubs n get into it, especially on the lures
Looks a good challenge never caugh a Pike before.
Have no idea where to go. Tactics seem same as sea fishing by putting out bait on a ledger such as bluey.
