gud stuff mate i have only ever been carping once and a tell ya what been a sea angler i can admit i really enjoyed the day with playing big lumps of carp amaizing the size of the tackle etc n hooks how ya manage to get them in :D

cheers scotty for puting pics up nd coddie the scrap was amazing on a light rod wish a could do a all day session in the sun with a few tins of lager at hand aswell ;)

Congratulations on your catch and winning the bet But! I would of prefered seeing the fish lying on an unhooking mat rather than the grass.

Well said, the caravan park should be looking after their fish better than that as well as educating the anglers. The net didn't look big enough either.

Didn't notice the net size but on having a second look I'd have to agree it doesn't look large enough and the thought of someone fishing all day in the sun drinking doesn't bare thinking about the piers and macky basher's springs to mind

Bit harsh lyk every one lerns by ther mastakes bet wen you's started bet you's hade dune some thing rong it is his 1st time

Maybe the blame lies with who ever owns the water, there should be a set of rules and regulations on display for anglers.
Most club or syndicate waters have strict codes of practise, minimum size unhooking mat and net are just two examples. One local club the bailiffs or any club members would ask you to leave if you didn't have the correct gear its all about the fishes welfare.
Mistakes, there'll not be anyone on this site that hasn't including myself its all about education. As for my first comment I have to disagree at it being described as "Harsh" and for my second if agreeing with someone else's comments is a crime I'll plead guilty.
If there's anyone out there planning a trip fishing for Carp or any coarse fish and your not sure seek advice, I'm doing it all the time.

Don't take it too personal Peter, the lads are right. If you put pictures on a forum you are leaving yourself open for constructive criticism.
Well done on your catch but as with ANY fishing there is a minimum amount of tackle you require. And with carp fishing an unhooking mat is a must plus a large enough landing net.

1. I don't drink alcohol when fishing.

2. I shouldn't of tarred you with the same brush.

3. Yes I do have photo's showing fish lying on the grass I was new to carping in 2009/2010 and I certainly didn't know any better, Since then I've joined a club and am now in the process of being educated.

4. Respectable well I think I am others may form a differing opinion to which there entitled to do so.

5. License I never questioned whether you did or didn't have a license I'm not an EA bailiff so its none of my concern.

6. Net better to have one than none at all but that's an uneducated guess.

7. Good nights sleep unfortunately I wont tonight I'm on night shift but thanks for the kind thought.

8. Can we please bury the hatchet on this thread, Iv'e made my mistakes and you have made yours.
