Fished Blyth pier for 5 and a half hours today. I thought as there had been quite a blow and there was a bit of colour to the water it may be a good day....Well, not a bite not even a crab taking the bait. Used Rag and mussel and totally blanked....What the hell is going on!!!

we decided to take the boat out for a run yesterday early on out of blyth had 3 hours fishing and not even a sniff!!
that must of been yous on the pier when we came back in at about 9.45ish???

fish should be few and far between now, my gear would normally be away now but am bored out of my mind:D, i go out now expecting a blank not to catch fish

You know I do believe you're right lol. Ive learned my lesson there. Whitley beach next I think of collywell.

I just put it down to the seabed there. It's as flat as a whitches so once the codling have done a bunk there's nowt left, odd flatty maybe. If you can't get snagged at a mark then in my opinion it won't produce many fish.

Do you mean blyth or Whitley.Collywell mate?

fished the pier yesterday as it was a nice day, not a sniff but nice to get out in the sun, time to change gear and species. next time its sunny might have an afternoon at alnmouth flattie bashing, and as it gets warmer spinning for pollock etc.

I was refering to blyth mate but I think the principle goes for other marks like whitley, sluice etc. (beach like)
Totally agree with you there mate , only ever had small flatties and tiny whiting from blyth
