Hello lads and lasses going to the west coast of the lake district near a village called millom has anybody got any idea what fish you can get up that way as it is the first time ive fished away from the home area any information would be helpful:D:red:

:Ddoes anybody think i could get bass or mackey up that way i know its a sandy beach on the map it looks like its opposite the isle of man and next to a place called bootle has anybody fished there advice required:D

You will get mackie over there mate and you should get bass flatties have a look for rock marks and you will probs get wrasse. use crab and worm baits.

I caught my first ever bass at Silecroft beach only a schoolie but i was well chuffed. The beach is best fished up to HW on a big tide 2 hours up and 2 down preferabley with a bit of surf running. Whiting, plaice, flounder and the odd codling with a chance of bass passing through.Popular areas are in front of the carpark and about 300 yrds north at the end of the path.I don't know why because its a featureless beach.Worm baits and fresh crab are best baits.I would suggest a run to Whitehaven or Maryport pier for mackeral.St Bee's can be a good place aswell but not for the fainthearted it's a bit of mission climbing down the cliff.. Good Luck.
