I caught my first ever bass at Silecroft beach only a schoolie but i was well chuffed. The beach is best fished up to HW on a big tide 2 hours up and 2 down preferabley with a bit of surf running. Whiting, plaice, flounder and the odd codling with a chance of bass passing through.Popular areas are in front of the carpark and about 300 yrds north at the end of the path.I don't know why because its a featureless beach.Worm baits and fresh crab are best baits.I would suggest a run to Whitehaven or Maryport pier for mackeral.St Bee's can be a good place aswell but not for the fainthearted it's a bit of mission climbing down the cliff.. Good Luck.
