Wallsend area, i normaly fish the river tyne but am gettin sik and ths winter am out to try and beat me record which stands at 9lb 8oz caught at jarrow park a few year back. Dyin to get owt around rocks beaches etc alot more often but realy dnt fancy goin by mesel.

same here always getting let down

purchased a boat load of fresh bait rag lug and peeler few weeks back for a weekend session for 4 of us and only 2 turned up

Well must admit i enjoy going out on my own.
Like the peace and quiet, which is why i avoid piers and always find with mates you do not fish with as much focus. To much time spent chatting etc and not thinking about what you are doing and getting fresh bait on the hook.
But maybe i am simply a bad tempered old sod who likes his own company. ;)

aye nowt like a good old session on ya own ya can fish when ya like and leave when ya like but as long as you know its safe but fishing in pairs would be even safer so carry a mobile with ya and wear reflective type or visual clothing just incase stay safe this winter guys ;)

Had some great sessions on my own on blyth beach in winter big seas and in day light, i remember the big rollers washing some big fish onto the sand about 30 yards from where i was fishing so they are out there just yards from the shore, a big big bass was washed up from the surf only yards from me i tried to get it but a wave took it back fast, so with no one with me no one believes me lol, but i do like to fish alone most times but at the same time its nice to have a few mates fishing with you and have a chat or little competition regards batt22

same problem

same problem

its a bit of a sickna same has happened to me countless times, it was especially annoying a few weeks back, i woke up looked outside the weather was perfect and i was'nt expecting it be (it was 2 hours to high tide) , so rang me friend who is currently unemployed asked him if he fancied coming out said i'd pay for the bait and that i had plenty of rigs, he said he was up for it but would have to make a few calls and would ring me back in half an hour, an hour past so i rang him no answer, texted him a couple of times and after another thirty minutes, he texted me back to say he could'nt be arsed.

This really got my back up as I had things to do later on so it f****d my session up, i had taken him out several times in the months before this, he would often choose not to buy bait saying he was going to do spinning then get there and the conditions would 'nt be right, so you'd end up sharing your bait, the lad would use my spinning rod and lose countless gear and not say sorry mate, its not like i expect him to replace out i understand he brassic and even if he was 'nt am not going to be to bothered about a few quid worth of gear, but some courtesy would 'nt go a miss.

Its not that he 's necessarily a bad friend but we all have friends we like but are unreliable, its probably our own fault for expecting friends that are like this to suddenly change cause its fishing.

I am from wallsend myself, so i 'll post up when i am going out and if you fancy coming along your welcome.
