Fishing loch etive

Hi,
I'm going to oban in a couple of weeks and want some info on what baits and gear to use in loch etive for the rays, huss, pollock and watever else? Cheers!

There are a few different places to try on loch etive, but this look is weird some days fishes tremedously well others its dead anyway

the main places to try are on the opposite side to the Taynuilt slipway you have to drive right along the loch and go over a metal bridge and there is a small road which takes you right down the other side, there is a large quarry where you can get access go through the quarry and keep walking here the water is quite deep and is good for jelly worms for the pollock etc

before you get to the quarry you pass a church , at the church there is a small burn running in and this is excellent for the rays, use a nice big bit of mackeral and you wont go wrong, ideally night fishing on the loch is best especially for the spurdogs!

you might find spurs a bit thin on the ground. A boat called the appollo from grimsby has spent the last fortnight longlining etive, sunart and the sound of mull, and they've left very little behind

the apollo hasnt been in the lochs this year was in a couple of years ago but hasnt been in this year since it has been up just in the sound of mull and firth of lorn............mass amounts of spurdogs and thornies have been captured tho and 3 big common skate

thanks for the help big paul, the info was really useful, it sounds like i should put my diving stuff on and drill some holes in the bottom of his boat, its pretty terrible what they do.
