give it a shot, 3 hours before high tide; 2hours after, but watch your back it can sneek upon you;you can fish off the end but its a bit snaggy,if you fish just on the bend cast towards the lighthouse thats Whitley Bay, not to far 50/60 yards up to 80 its onto sand, had some nice flatties and a few good cod 2lb sort of weight, of if around a few Scotchies on light gear ,usually September/ October are a good laugh, crap eating but nice fishcakes,mackeral from when ever they turn up May June ish BUT watch the tide low water at summer is ok, but watch the winter tide, its just below the High Point hotel on Whitley Bay sea front down onto the prom & work your way down over the rocks to the pipe or you can go down opposite a pub called 42nd st and walk along the pipe to the bend, pollock in the summer/sept on the float is fun again light gear at the end but again a little snaggy due to the weed,,,
