fishing north of seahouses

iv\'e been looking at my road map today for directions in conection with work and noticed there is a lot of shoreline to be fished on the north north east coast. my question is ; are there any decent marks near or off the back of bamburgh castle, just asking because i never seem to hear of reports or anyone fishing that area. i might have a run up sometime for a scout round

Between Bamburgh and Holy Island you have Budle bay, ok for flats at the river mouth, but no rough ground. The Open sea on this stretch has strong tides with the Farnes pushing the water inshore. Head up a bit further and you will find Holy Island which is your best hit, plenty marks round the North East side of the Island.
Have a walk around on a fine day and you will pick out the gulleys and skers between Castlehead rocks and Emmanuel Head.
You are right about the reports though, it is very rarely fished in the winter months but the fish are still there.
Heading up the coast it is sand all the way to Berwick, apart form Scremerston which has a few skers fishing onto shallow rough ground.
Once you round the Pier at Berwick it is rough ground all the way to Marshall meadows, theres loads of marks but most are a hike.

Two hundred yds further up and you are into gods country......

I was told Stag Rocks worth a go. Never fished it but might have a go this winter.

Looked at Scremeston beach a few years ago coming back from Eyemouth and there were some cracking looking skeers at low water. Never got the chance to fish it but would love a go some time. Looks ideal winter fishing.

might have a look up sometime david, i sort of know the area and its not a long way from morpeth but i think a scout around might be in order first

Mark, I fish Seahouses and Beadnell quite regular and find the marks there produce fish more often than not. Nothing really big, but enough to keep going back for. They are both just a 5 minute drive south from Bamburgh.
