When I'm not supervising the bull fighting or making meaningful posts on NESA I visit a flyfishing forum Fly Fishing Forums - Powered by vBulletin it's a fantastic place. A thread has started up there about favourite quotes. A lot of poshos have written about and been involved flyfishing so there's a bit of material out there. A lot of superb people have been anglers and written the odd bit down about the fishing in general.

Anyone got any favourites (Wallsendo is only allowed 137 and 19 minutes of Google time )

Here's one I knicked from over there

I once asked an Irish boat renter if he had a a 5 gallon can I could borrow to get some more petrol and he said "Sure I have but it only holds 1 gallon".

sorry charlie but he also told me that brown looking pebbles are not topping
if you catch a fish and put it back to fight another day, it will have the sense never to eat anything again with a pointy thing sticking out of it. so you might as well put it in your bag and have it for your tea cos nobody will hook it again cos fish are smart .there again there is always the bloody trawlers
