Fishing republic

im just a bit curious as well.was the rag worm alive,ie squirming about?
if it was youve probably just bought the best freshly dug rag your likely to get.
wet and soggy, cos its fresh not farmed crap mate.
you need to dry the worm in newspapers before you use it,then you will see just how alive it is

spot on mate thats what he has got i just thought on the last time i got it them from there the paper was soaking wet all you need to do is re-wrap it in fresh newspaper and the worms are no longer slimey and hard to hold etc or just throw a little sand on them

I used to get my rag direct from the digger when I lived in Portsmouth, usually dug that very tide. Spanking fresh wild rag will always be wet and slimy until its spent a bit of time wrapped in paper with peat or vermiculite to draw off some of the moisture.

Nowt to moan about there, it's when you are purposely given dead worm that p's me off.

i normally get my rag from flash fishing in seaton deleval he gets his rag dug in bangor north wales and its usually spot on tho i must admit the last batch was crap but ive not been back there yet and when i tell him im sure he'll sort summit out. the rest of the stuff there tackle wise is cheap rubbish but like i say his rag worm is normally top notch.

What's peoples views on this place? Got some rag from there today was the worst rag I've ever used, was so wet and soggy a couldn't even pick it up, maybe a bad batch, just curious that's all

i like to open mine up when out of shop that way if no good take them back.

for some reason i dont like to see them in shop prob the best way.

i have had some excellant rag and some very bad rag from them would i go back probaly would.

place i go to, i get it weighed and bagged in front of me.
Everyone gets crap bait sometimes.
But loyalty goes a long way, go back to the same place and become a regular and your bait situation improves in my experience.

wild rag

wild rag

have had problems with worm in the past, it has always been farmed worm which I don't like. I now use A line baits at horsley Hill in south shields. have used since shop opened in april, wild rag weighed and sorted/wrapped in front of you. top quality, never had bad worm always excellent.
