Kentish,
When you say the rocks at Cresswell, I presume you mean 'the Carrs' (the ones right at the southern end of Cresswell beach opposite the Ice cream shop). I fish this mark myself a lot, and if you fish the north facing part of the rocks - casting N or NW, then you are casting onto clean ground. However the edges of the rocks are covered in thick Kelp, so if you hook a decent fish you have to 'bully' it through the Kelp. Therefore I would say your reel is a bit on the light side. I use a Penn 535 with a long leader, so I have plenty of heavy line on the reel, if I am landing a fish and I can pull it through the Kelp. As for the front of the rocks casting E, I don't fish here myself, but there is a lot more Kelp and snags here so your present reel would be unsuitable.. Good luck and by the way it fishes best on a SE sea
