Hiya - i have few spare hrs tomorrow afternoon from 2pm. It will be the last 4hrs of the flood. Considering it's still daylight I am thinking of fishing the Tyne for the first time. What do you recommend based on the tide? I live on the north side, but I can take the tunnel if needed. Also would u use light 10-15lb or heavier (25-30lb) gear?
Tks in advance
Alex

If you can cast 100+yards You can fish the Quay In front of the flats If no boats moored up. I use 16Lb Main line 60lb shockleader That will be fine for here With the pulley rig and loop rig Covering the species :D hope this helps.

riverside park, pottery bank, or st.peters basin,as good as any, plenty of flds, small codling with quite a few size and some decent whiting. davy.

Had first 3 hrs of the flood this afternoon at riverside park then st.peters basin
very quiet only saw a couple of undersize codling, as far as daylights concerned
the river fishes better during daylight. Hope this helps

Got to disagree, find the river far far better during the dark however!.... Well worth a trip during the daylight aswell. Go for the lighter line and you might find you hold better to the bottom when the tide is flooding. Davy has given you a good few spots to try. Still plenty fish in the river mate. Best of luck
