Fixed Spool Only

I'm interested in a BeachCaster rod I've seen on Ebay and the description said "Fixed Spool Only" I was curious about this as I figured they both attach in the same way, so when I looked on the web the official description was "Availabe in Fixed Spool or Multiplier Models"
What's the difference between the two types of rod? and would I be able to use a multiplier on it?

probably be the size ans spacing of the eye holes, fixed spool will be large eye holes, multiplier will be small and more of them.

you can use a multiplier on a fixed spool rod but if you get a nice fish on the spine of the rod is upside down so it can shater / split
it will also efect casting distance
