Flatties on Mussel

Fished for a couple of hours tonight on Blyth Beach - 1 hour of the tide up and 1 hour down.

Bait - Mussel
Rig - 1/0 Aberdeen....running ledger type affair, breakaway lead

My objective was to catch Flatties and 15 minutes or so into my first cast my rod tip gave a little rattle (and I mean little LOL:D)...

rebaited and casted out again....20 minutes or so later and another little rattle...

and then...

a 25cm Coalie :)

At this point I'm on 3 casts and 3 fish...pretty good ratio ;):D

4th cast? A blank - left it out for about 20+ mins...oh well, can't win 'em all:rolleyes:

5th cast resulted in my final fish...

5 casts equalled 4 fish - all of which were returned :D

Totally enjoyed the couple of hours...didn't catch huge monsters from the deep but it reminded me why I like fishing and that sometimes you don't need to catch specimens to enjoy what we do ;):D

Cheers

Nice 1 mate. Your right they don't always have to be big to enjoy it. I'm just pleased not to be blanking at the moment. It would be nice to get just 1 BIG FISH tho LOL.

I was looking at Alnwick club results in the paper and someone weighed 1 in 11lb + That would be very nice.

i'm not out till tomorrow :( but i'm going to fish the tide all the way in and back out most the way :) thinking about ground baiting aswell!!

Well done,just shows you.
I was going to fish there last night thought it wouldn't be worth it,same tonight, flat sea,not going to bother and made plans.
Old saying, you won't catch in the house rings true.
