Hi Eddie. Argos do 2 fly fishing kits which don`t sound to bad. Personally I`d go for the slightly more expensive one as it seems to be a better rod and has more accessories. I started fly fishing about 12 years ago with a starter kit bought in Argos. I still use it as a back up today. You can also get some decent starter kits on Ebay but I`d go for a mid price range one to start off as some of the cheap ones are pretty flimsy. I don`t know how much you are thinking of spending but anything around £40 - £60 should be enough to get a quality starter outfit.
I hope this is of some help and good luck with it.

Just bought a Shakespeare fly rod and a masterline reel for a combo price of £40...from Frasers in Whitley...no flies or leader...Frasers in G/Head may do the same deal....

Try a few of your local shops Eddie and see what they can offer you. I would have a look in and see Terry Woods at Reelsports, you will get some great advice off him mate.

Jim.

personally, I'd have a look in the local shops and see what thye can put together for you. Go for the best rod you can, and the cheapest reel they've got, the reel is really just there to hold line anyway, so the money would be better spent on a decent rod.

I'm sure somewhere like frasers, if you went in and explained would but a decent outfit together based on a decent rod, and then all the other bits added on
