for a couple of seasons now you have been able to watch premiership footy on chanels such as ESPN on your pc if you had a broadband connection. however when a live match was on there were simply too many people competing for too little bandwidth, this made it very inconsistant and hardly worth the trouble.
this problem has now been solved by a couple of shareware programs which act similar to p2p programs and ensure smooth streaming, the more people that use the program at any given time the more stable it becomes. i watched liverpool v sunderland on saturday and it worked perfectly. the two programs are coolstreaming and pplive. i find pplive is the best. heres a link
http://www5.pplive.com/english/
download and enjoy.
superb stuff !!!!!!

ps. espn is the chanel that shows the most games, although many of the other chanels have live games as well.

forgot to mention if you are going to watch a live match start the streaming about 10 mins before kickoff, it usually takes a few minuites to stabalise, but after that its really good.

Cheers Micky, I\'ll give it a try.

Don\'t suppose you know of a website that tells you what matches are gonna be shown in advance?

Cheers 4 that. I just downloaded the chinese version and had 2 uninstall lol. I\'ll try again and take more notice this time

Gettin\' there but cant break the language barrier. Just been whatching Charlton v wigan. The secret seems to be click and wait. Any help from experienced users would be welcome.

Mickey, when I bring up the channel listing, its in chinese - anyway round it?

dead easy davy. just use the link i gave for the download ie

http://www5.pplive.com/english/

then click on program list (just above where it says download on the left hand side of the screen) this should bring up most of the chanel names in english. then its just a case of clicking on play beside the chanel you want then wait 90 seconds or so for it kicking in after buffering !

Working ok for me Bri

On the subject of watching footie, I\'ve just ordered Sky plus, after a bit of shouting I managed to get it for £49 (might get a reconditioned box) so I spent the £50 I saved on Premplus :D

Not bad either, ordered today getting fitted on Sunday!

Aye Davey, I wanted the multiroom, but I reckon if you laid it on thick enough you could just have the sky+ plus for £49, just threaten to cancel your subscription.

New customers to sky get 3 months 1/2 price subs worth £60 and could have sky+ for £89, now way I was gonna pay £99, These deals for new customers really boil my pi$$

Cheers Keith. Begrudge paying for Multiroom when I don\'t want it.

You\'re right about the new customer thing though, its the same with mobile phones.

BTW did you get sorted with a roofer. If you\'re stuck, give me a shout cos my dads one.

Cheers Davey, I had a mate of a lad from work out to have a look at the roof, he\'s supposed to be coming back with his ladders to have a better look but his missus has just had a bairn. I\'ll give him a week or so and if I haven\'t heard owt I\'ll give you a shout if that\'s ok.

Me too. Missus is going mad, footy on the computer, Ashes in the telly,
wine between the two.... When are we going shopping............... haha

Cheers Micky I\'m just between halves in the toon match ...WAHOO
although let\'s wait to see what the second half brings lol
Is the commentary always Chinese or am I doing something wrong?
