From hook to cook ..... :-)

Your alot quicker than me at filleting Norman lol.
Top marks on end presentation, looked like a painting all the colours and shapes on that plate.

Mmm looks good Norman. You just need a cup of tea to go with it; I don’t know why but coffee isn’t right with fish n chips.

Nice spot of fishing, good filleting and as for the cooking, PM me to send my invitation to a fish and chip dinner at yours. The other lads on here will only want to tag along. Looks like a visit to the chippy until then. :D

you need a little more fat in the pan. as you put it into the oil/ fat, roll it from side to side, from the tail, fat is a lot better, beef dripping is the best Thats why its called deep fat fryer. the batter mix coats the fish then you dump it into the hot oil & it seals it,so essentially you steam/boil the fish in the batter coat, try mixing it with beer 50/50 with water, the alcohol burns off quicker &in theory makes the batter mix crispier John Smiths,Guinness Brown Ale is my mix, it also adds a little colour/ darkness to the end product plus it only takes 1/4 of a can to do it, so you have to drink the rest, its a hard life,,also try chucking a few herbs into the batter,a bit parsley or a smidge of sage, salt pepper, play with it a little bit & mushy peas an absolute must , as well as chips, got to be propper chips, peeled par boiled cooled then deep fat fried in dripping--- enjoy

best batter fifty percent plain flour, fifty percent cornflour, I cook mine in a wok as well Norm, and keep flippping it over and over. Beer batter "yuck"

I'm lucky, I don't have to mess about making batter as neither of us are keen on it.

Norman, you put Harry Ramsdens to shame. When did you say we could come round for fish and chips?

ps a drop of vinegar in the batter mix.

Well , lots of good Ideas there but to be honest :) it just goes over my head as I end at the filleting , thats where my good lady wife takes over ... :) oh and of course I get to do the eating bit :) :)

Scrape the fruit and veg off. Leave the chips.

Heinz tomato sauce, white bread 'n' butter and a can of coke.

Nice vid, nice bit of fish :)
