Aye sad times but good memories. A lot of good fish caught there. Rhu Narrows, Clyde area, Loch long were all great places to fish in the 70s and early 80s. I was living there when they allowed pair trawling in these places ( around 1976) and the trawlers wrecked the mussel beds which brought the cod in. Dived in these places in the 90s and the sea bottom was devoid of food just a desert. Pure madness

Just down the road from me. Removal of the 3 mile limit in 1983, thereby allowing boats under 10 metres to trawl anywhere is my guess, but I don't want to fall out with anyone. I just thought it was a sad indictment on fishing today.

The first picture is a competition, obviously there wasn't that many rods out normally!
