I\'ve got some Squid in the freezer, i was wondering would it be possible to defrost it and make some coctails up with it on the hooks and then refreeze,or will it be knackered cheers all

Not a problem jordy. In fact it\'s a good idea. Would save you getting cold hands when you are out, also you will find you are out of the water for less time.
Try making some with Runnydown, mussel and squid. Good stuff mate.

Jim.

I refreeze squid, does not seem to be depremental, squid and mussel are the only two baits that I will refreeze. Give it a go mate, should be ok, unless someone knows different?

defrost and refreeze mine for weeks on end the older stuff seems to do well after a good churn up ,stinks to high heaven ,i defrost mine stuff it then refreeze no problems

I do use razors sometimes, but never thought about refreezing it, will next time tho, owt to save a few bob, being a tight smoggie I have to look after the pennies ;) Cheers Willie

It was Gogs that first posted about it on here mate. I refreeze just about everything except crab now and have caught on it all at different times.
Dead right bri I am the same but have to take it outside as she who must be obeyed doesn\'t like the smell lol. Last time she was retching and I was trying not to laugh. Some people have no sense of humour lol.

Jim.

Happy new year Jim and congrats on your prom lol.yes i did mention about letting razor go of before freezing them and it is still the best way to do them, same with cock clam.but so far this winter season they have not been of much use due to the lack of easterlys.always needs a good sea to make these baits work best.so far this season the best baits have been crab and mackerel, crab and mussell and squid mussell and mackerel.ive only dug once this winter :D

Thank\'s Gordon mate. Pretty much the same down here, untill the easterlies come it is going to be hard work. Got to try everything and hope one of them works on the night.

Jim.

Oops sorry Gordon . Happy new year mate.

Never tried refreezing yet. Always try to use eveything I take but after last trip that had me out for 7 hours in cr*p weather for next to nothing will give it a go. Can\'t somebody do something about all these westerlies. :D

Last time she was retching and I was trying not to laugh

first batch i bought last year was the big stuff lol when i was cleaning it i split the gut ,i never knew such language could be used in ref to a squid :o ,needless to say i ended up in the back garden

and for some reason she doesnt like me using the microwave to defrost my bait :D

i never refreeze mussell or squid though it might not work as good and the quality of it would not be up to standard. so the crabs get the left overs usually......but now after reading I will refreeze ;)

i \'ve allways refreezed my squid and that only 3 times tho then i chuck it also do it with my pike baitsi tend to keep my frozen peeler in wide mouth flask to slow the the thaw down then keep getting a couple out to use then if i dont use them then they can go back in the freezer like i said 3 times then bin

3 times then bin
ive seen me standing using fresh squid and catch bugger all while wor kid uses the minginest pinkest squid ive ever seen in and out the freezer a doz times or more and guess who catches
its so rotton sometimes its got to be tied onto the hook ,i gave it a go myself and the results are proven ,older is better,it smells as well as having the visual lure, when mine gets to the point where its past help i stuff it into fresh squid :P then again im a tight git
