Well i know its a fishing board but i`m a little puzzled ! While digging in the garden today i dug up about a dozen little brown grub like things !! and the end was twirling round and round ! spooky looking little buggers !I`m no expert but i think my garden is being invaded by aliens ?
Any garden experts on a fishing site?

They were'nt dock grubs were they, about 1/2" to 3/4" long with a segmented cocoon? If they were they are an excellent freshwater bait.Bit like a giant caster?:red:

Well they were about 3/4" to an 1" long maggot like and wiggled like fook in a circular fashion !
Wont be able to get many on a 10/0 hook tho ........... may have to keep digging ;)

Tink they may be moth or flutterby tings ! dark brown in colour ! But being the nature lover that i am they were released unharmed over the fence into next doors garden :D

Nowt like them Bry were more likw a very large castor(fresh water i fishing think) but what do i know? spooky little squirmy fookaz ...they seemed hard to touch (body) only the end mooved ..segmented to a point:eek:

Were they not those Squirmmel things you could buy - them velvet coated worms with a bit of string on that looked dead good in the adverts but were rubbish when you got them out of the packet. You ken what I'm saying? I swallowed one in 1976 still waiting for it to come out -I do however have a bit of string stuck in my teeth that's been hanging around for about the same length of time. I'm too scared too pull it :o

funny you mentioned them bert , found the same things at my allotment yesterday , they were a redish colour and their little heads twirled faster when you squeezed the hard bit.
found some white and yellowy type grub things too (no spinning heads).
must be grubtime of year.

Well Jamie they were Nowt like that !! i`m going to either jump over next door to find them or do some more digging with my camera and take a few photo`s the next time the weather is too bad for fishing;)

Ah well thats sorted now cheers chaps ! should stick to fishing at least i got a got chance of knowing what comes up ! leave the gardening to the green fingered folk !
Moral= stick to what you do best ;)
