Geordie Abroad - Dungeness, Kent

Nice fish mate- just wondering what it's like down there? Steeply shelving shingle beach I imagine? Long casting or can you pick fish up close in and is daytime any good? Cheers in advance, thinking of having a look down

Hughgee - it's very steep shingle. There are a few different marks but it's basically the same - big banks of shingle, fast tide. The fishing is good in the day when the water's coloured but in the two times I've been there it's just been like casting into a swarm of whiting (some better ones to about 1lb but loads undersize). I just swung out massive lug and squid baits with big hooks and a 7oz fixed lead. (The locals like live-baiting with the whities, but it's a waiting game). That cod was taken maybe 50 yards out. But there's loads of info online about fishing it - - try Seagull Tackle - - the guy there is helpful and an expert. Give it a go - it's a cool place.:)
