I am taking the wife upto ayr for the weekend on friday, we are going to the the haven holiday site Craig Tara that used to be the old butlins site, it has a beach running next to the site and she has agreed to let me have a few hours fishing on saturday, HT is around 12.00 and its only a small tide of 3.6m, was hoping for some advice on what time I should try, possible tactics, what bait and if anyone has fished around there. due to only having a few hours off I'll have to take bait up with me but the wife wont let me keep live bait in the house.
Thanks in advance for any advice it is greatly appreciated.

There's plenty of bait can be dug on the beach directly out of the site. Take a fork with you, plenty of lug, cockles and razor to be found. Unfortunately not much in the way of fish the couple of times I've tried there when we've stopped at the site (few years ago mind so things may have changed).

the tides are big this week end aint they mate? im away over west for blacks if i can get a lift
sorry unfortunately I am taking the mini so once its got the suitcase, fishing gear and provisions in, there's barely any room for me and wor lass.
If wor lass was willing to get the train up I could have took my golf clubs.
If you double check on the bbc site the tides are only small this weekend, but good luck all the same.
