aye frozen sand is hard :D:D:D

always found the whiting more than happy to oblige in even the hardest frost and cold though me old man always said pointless fishing during a thaw, the freshwater drives them off shore

aye it seem's pretty dire at the mo like:mad: its gone totally dead:(

headin out soon coz av got sum bait too good to waste but kinda know it'll prob be a waste of time even with that canny sea runnin!!

:phi plum fishing is **** all over at the moment tommy tea pot said you only got a colie the other night lol i was fishing 2 wks sat gone got 5lb cod 2lb and a 1-1/2 from ryhope clifs told tommy and send him picks

hi guys had a quick chat at teatime about this with codonly, the seas have been running for a while now so the fish move in feed up then with the cold weather we've had they move back offshore when they are full up! We need a settled spell for a week or so then a good sea again and they will move back in for the feed.

yes mate its dire straits well done on your fish ,if id been there id av had bigger hahaha ,i still dont go with the stories feeding on sprat,or to cold ect ect ,they culdnt all fill up at once norways much colder and they prefer it ,its just a weird cod science that we dont understand and can only guess ,if we knew weed be ace anglers, its part of the fun i suppose hoping theyre there on the night lol atb lads tight lines plum:D

yes the sea has been running now for nearly 3 weeks with only the odd day of settled weather, there has been nout decent from round our area since that big eastly what dropped away very quickly and didnt really dirty the water up, i had 3 blanks when that eastly was on ( few measly coalies but i dont count them) , then this northerly picked up almost str8 after which has dirtyd the water up but the fish are out over feeding on the sandeels i no this for a fact because the lads are getting a bit of fish in the nets. there was mass shoals of sandeels about a quarter of a mile off on tuesday the gulls were going mad, now the cod are not going to move inside to look for food when there is mass amounts of easy pickings for them 1mile out! its like us walking a mile to get a chinkies when there is 1 100yards away :D time to get 3bins of nets aboard i think. any way ive just had a few hours at a low water mark, sea was perfect using top quility bait and got 1 coalie. so thats 4 blanks in a row i think ive lost my mojo!!! only went cos im sick of sitting in and corra had finished haha:D i think if the sea drops away for a week or so then we get a good northerly then some fish will move inshore especaily them BIG females ready to spawn after christmas.... but talking to the trawler lads they saying its meant to be all off the sea winds for the next couple of weeks. lets hope we get a little settled period
