Good AGAIN 30/April Saturday

I was wondering, if I should do the same old thing and bring up another catch report, because it seems incredibly repetitive at the moment...BUT HEY its just May and I know that many get depressed and annoyed by another rainy bank holiday and maybe some positive reports from the boat guys help to brighten up !!

So YES...we managed to find them.

However...we thought it would be tricky (it was not!).
There was a 1.5m swell left from that cold front and the tides were rather mini, so we opted for an afternoon trip to avoid the dead slack water.

So we did and to our delight we got a nice drift on our recently so successful wreck -The Ravensbourne- we lifted 3-4 fish on our trusted baited hokkais and moved to another one, of which I don't know the name. We started our drift and like a moron, a charter boat arrived and "parked" next to us...NOT the Sapphire and NOT the JFK2 of course... we instantly moved on to trusty ole Adam Beck...although I think Sapphire was there just before us...result: Nothing...moved on to HC Flood, which is almost Newcastle waters and picked up a few...moved to Rosa...picked up a mixed grill of cod, pollock and ling...completed the round by visiting Humber and few more of the 3-4 mile wrecks and picked up a few everywhere.

Nothing was big, I guess the ling at 8lb and the pollock at 7lb, but the overall stamp was like in June 3-5lb.

I guess we fished 3-4 hours, steamed 18 nautical miles, burnt 15l fuel, lost 15 sets of tackle (!!!) and caught about 20 cod, ling and pollock

here some photos

After some weeks of polishing and using James' boat my (nameless) boat looks less like the wrecks that I fish

Pete should practice holding the fish in "Whitby Style"...cant believe how small they look and both fish were over 5lb !!

Anyway...the bucket was steadily filling up and we also let quite a few lightly hooked ones go

Good that in my Devils Kitchen another 50 self-made sinkers wait for the next trip

Next unfortunately is replacing an injector, which has just arrived from USA (30£ income tax oouuuch)!

I wish everyone a LOVELY MAY

Its all on the closer wrecks in the moment.

I usually fish a group of 4 wrecks, I call them the Fab-4, and they are from 5-7 miles from shore. Those fab-4 have not produced anything significant since December whilst the 2-5 miles range does...almost all of them.

There is a slight issue with seals though on them at the moment.

Great report, go get them guys! Shame I was away on a youths football event in Cumbria.
Interesting that another charterboat is playing the same aggressive and dangerous trick.

To make it clear, if maybe you are reading this, if I'm fishing on my boat or a friends boat and some idiot pulls that same stunt as described I will be immediately contacting the coastguard both remotely and face to face with specific details.

 She's looking good - Are you sure you have the right boat - Good report and Pete looks happy
