Four launched into conditions more fitting to summer than a Jan winters morning , had to take my hat off on the short paddle out 
James settling in at anchor close to me in 30ft . Soon into cod , pouting and plagued by coalies . His best at that anchorage being a 7lb cod . Myself having a double shot of cod and big pouting on first drop fishing higher up the reef in heavy kelp , no coalies best cod there 6lb.
Ian and Jeff fished a little further South trying drifting then anchoring before moving further out .
Bit controversy here with Ian finding a few fish and kindly let Jeff tie off to him only for Jeff to start catching all the fish , thought I would help by anchoring strategically alongside and proceeded to pull a few out lol.
Best of 8 keepers .
Some big pouting showed.
