Greys and sonik rods

Why do they just whack the high build on like this is thier no quality control even in the foreign countries

I had a sk3 and the high build stuff looked like it had been put on with a catapult!!! Problys a result of mass production!!

Looks like it hasn't been turned often or long enough while it dried. Are the other rings the same, or just that one?

The whole rod even turning by hand could get a better result than that to much on in my opinion like you say mass production

I got a rod from Conoflex a few years back, a Gamma 3; the biggest ring was 20 degrees out of alignment with the rest - which weren't particularly straight either. On the quiver tips, 7 of the rings were completely blocked with high-build & I had to drill them out. I think they had Stevie Wonder in for some work experience when they built mine!!

It's bad enough visually like that but after a few decent fish or locking the rod up when pulling from snags the high build cracks.

Always find this with greys rods... Lets them down massively

they use the cheapest of rings on some models also, 1 fall and the inserts smash out . big dissapointment .

I think sonik use cheaper rings on most rods but almost all greys are built with genuine alconites
