How do people make their grip leads, i put the wires in the mould but have heard some people drill them, what sort of drill do you use for lead?

grip leads

I've got the gemini lead set which comes in a little blue case. The grip wires fit into a plastic fitting which screws into the bottom of your lead.Dont know what other people think but i think they are ok.

Most grip lead moulds these days come with 2 short lengths of welding rod type wire which you put into the moulds pre drilled holes. Pour the lead, let it set then pull the wires out. Otherwise you can't get the mould apart. When the weights are cool, insert you grip wires and bend to suit. Simples!

I do as above post, using an adjusti mould ;)

Just made a few the other week.....

easiest way is to cut two short pieces of wire put them in mould then remove before splitting mould leaving holes open to put wires through when and as required

The wire that comes with most moulds is 16 gauge, which is thicker than the 18 gauge wire used for the finished leads. This is so you can easily push the grip wire through the lead.
If you can,put some handles and a hinge on the mould. It makes making leads a lot easier and quicker.
