After fishing the last 4 saturday nights and blanking on every session I thought I would try a friday night instead.bait out the freezer a quick defrost in some boiling water (not ideal but it was a last minute job) decided to head up to Hadston as a couple of lads I knew were fishing the blyth club match.first hoy loaded with a full squid resulted in a nice knock which I missed.not long after resulted in my first codlin in 4 weeks...owa the moon not big mind but but it was a fish:D.it went quiet for 20 mins so moved further down the beach.straight away another codling aboot 1.5lb.loaded up with runnydown and mussel and chucked back in my mate shouts over so I had a wonder back up the beach he had a codlin on.on the walk back over to my rod I noticed it banging away got to it and a slack liner...champion its a decent fish preying away that it wouldnt come off as I knew it would be my PB result was a 5lb 3oz cod.not massive but it was to me.after that I got one that was 3lb 8oz.
A cracking nights fishing as there was plenty fish that got away.
And to top it off my 9 year old daughter said my 5lber qualifies it as a river monster...lol
Baits used was squid, runnydown and mussel.
I have some pictures but cant remember my password for photo bucket so when I make a new account I will upload some.
