Tried down to bottom water and 3 hrs up and nothing at all. All the right venue bait but just purely too rough. Give another try early in week.

I intended to get onto Bondi to try to get behind the main surf as had a lot of doubles from there when the sea is up, to bad to even get on there to get any distance out to get behind the major disturbance,
Normally they lie in the gullies, sea was dying off at 6pm when I left but too late for the beach as the water was pushing in hard and could not reach the deeper water by then to much push on the legs to wade out over the knees, didn't fancy a swim.

One of me fav beaches but just unfishable when it in that state will be canny once it starts to die away though

Nice try bs. You obviously know your business. I just thought I'd mention that it in heavy seas and providing you can hold the bottom it's often worth fishing the beaches over high water. Particularly the likes of Warkworth / Blyth in the areas where the beach sometimes falls off steeply below the HW line. As you probably know you can often 'see' where the shallow gullies are by studying the wave patterns.

Nice bit of insight for Bondi mate, place I have never fished. May look up there
