Had a run off Whitley today and fished back of the Briardene weeds fishing frozen crab. Started catching small codling and pout, coalies. Tried a few different spots, but was very slow going. Got my first sizer, 2.1/2lb after about 1 hour, then sitting in the cabin avoiding the squall that came over, the phone rang, twas the wife.
No sooner than I answered, the rod went over as I was holding it, which resulted in a stocky 5lbder.
Amazing how many times that happens when the phone rings, when it's been quiet for ages. That was it for today, so headed back in for 2pm.
