Well done on the session mate cracking haul of fish, like a few of the other lads I love some whiting with chips mushy peas, I can't believe some people won't entertain the idea of fish and chips without cod.
They are nice to eat but loads are wormed. These usually show up as red blotches on the liver.
Saying that if well cooked or frozen and worm is killed. It still puts me off though.
Mick.
Someone once told me the worming is down to seal poo?.
That's where it starts Mick , then the marine life break down the poo ingesting the egg larvae and , the worm developes in the intestine of the inshore fish, and move into the flesh around the belly area, which can be cut away. If you look at the summer caught fish, cod, mackeral and whiting, are all affected, some more than others. saying that, if you miss the odd one, freezing or cooking, like you say Mick, will render them harmless.
