Had a few hours at hawthorn point yesterday afternoon, the sea was looking very good with a good swell ,started fishing about 2.00pm ,bait used rag and squid, on my first cast i caught a small whitey ,this was after about 5 mins , returned the fish ,re baited and out she went again ,sure enough another knock and another whitey, then things died off a bit for about an hour then the bites started again ,missed a couple ,then got my first small codling of the season, returned that one and put the next cast as close to the previous one as possible and sure enough another codling ,about a pound and a half, i then cast out again ,this time i pulled in an eel, about 18 inches long, the time was getting on a bit and so i had to pack up as my lift home was on its way [always the case].So all in all i had a very good day out, looking forward to the next session
