Hebburn stone jetty

Hi all,

Fished the stone jetty this afternoon from low tide to high.

My initial plan was to fish two rods: one with a large cod bait into the channel and another rod fishing a 2 hook flapper closer in.

After having a couple of flounder on the smaller rod I decided to just stick with the bigger baits and try and catch a codling or two....a little while later I pulled in a small double sided flounder that had managed to take a 3/0 hook!

In the end I had 8 fish in total: 3 flounders, 4 whiting and a tommie codling. Much better than being at work!

That's the Hebburn jetty doggers James look out there coming to get you

It's all the running water coming down the bank to the river that causes a lot of the noises there. Can be a bit creepy down there especially when it is as quiet as it was last night, you hear every little sound.

Ha! I did notice some Jonny wrappers when I was walking back to the car. Not the most romantic of places...

Nice to meet you James...I did catch two codling best about 2lb but the big boys didn't turn up this time around

nice sesh mate. be careful when fishing there, last time I was down seen a couple of old syringes lying around on the jetty. loads of drugies get there on the night time

If you were in the van I was fishing along from you on the grass bank. I was in the black Landrover. Did ok one Codling which I kept. I drove up and had a look but did not like the wood at the base.

Some extra people chasin last weeks fish mate after the open was won from there. always a nice easy mark to fish aswell which helps!
