Hebburn stone jetty

Hi all,

Fished the stone jetty this afternoon from low tide to high.

My initial plan was to fish two rods: one with a large cod bait into the channel and another rod fishing a 2 hook flapper closer in.

After having a couple of flounder on the smaller rod I decided to just stick with the bigger baits and try and catch a codling or two....a little while later I pulled in a small double sided flounder that had managed to take a 3/0 hook!

In the end I had 8 fish in total: 3 flounders, 4 whiting and a tommie codling. Much better than being at work! ImageUploadedByTapatalk1417214513.898689.jpg

Must have been you that me and Dave spoke to, we fished the top section. Well done on getting a few fish out mate.

Cheers. I wasn't half glad when you guys showed up! I've not fished that area before and there were some strange noises coming out of the woods behind me :|

It's all the running water coming down the bank to the river that causes a lot of the noises there. Can be a bit creepy down there especially when it is as quiet as it was last night, you hear every little sound.

nice sesh mate. be careful when fishing there, last time I was down seen a couple of old syringes lying around on the jetty. loads of drugies get there on the night time

If you were in the van I was fishing along from you on the grass bank. I was in the black Landrover. Did ok one Codling which I kept. I drove up and had a look but did not like the wood at the base.
Mick.
