This week I am on the Isle of Mull in the Inner Hebrides. The roads were closed today due to the Mull Rally going on so it seemed a good opportunity to get some fishing in. About a mile and a half north of our cottage is a small white sand bay called Port Na Ba. So I headed up there and set up on the end of the left hand point to fish the first four hours of the flood tide. I had a canny session and also saw two seals and an otter !
I set up two bait rods with lug, rag, squid, mackie and raw prawn baits and also did some spinning using an old faithful - zenith 40g spinner. There was plenty of action with the spinning rod and I caught three pollack and three coleys (all undersize) and one mackerel which became a fried mackerel butty when I got back
Mmm. No luck on the bait rods today. Tomorrow I may head down to Calgary bay at first light depending on how much beer I have tonight :red: Here are some pics....
