hi can the moderator please delete my account, cant seem to bring myself to fish without my mate who sadly passed .thankyou

was that nicky patterson by any chance? loverly lad, used tobe in his class at school.ps,rip nicky, also thinking of his family.

I have felt the same over the past few months, my mum was diagnosed with terminal cancer and we are taking each day as it comes...However as Alan says your friend would not want you to give up what you both enjoyed so much and my mum feels that way too.
I also have the added responsibility of taking my brother who only took up the sport last year and is now obsessed, it will take his and my mind off the pain we are suffering!

Time is a great healer!

I think many lads on here have lost someone close, wether its a fishing mate, drinking mate or just someone close, the best thing is to get back out there as said pevious there are lots of good lads out there fishing who you can chat to, the pain will never leave but time is a great healer.

as said, your mate would want you carry on fishing, and when you are fishing. think of all the good times , laughs and fish you had with him at your favorite marks

Agree with everyone on here.
It's gonna be hard to pluck out the motivation to push yourself to do it
But I'm sure getting yourself out will keep your mind occupied, the person you've lost will want you to keep on fishing & he'll be looking down on you with a smile on his face to see your enjoying fishing still, memories will never go away good or bad but doing something you both enjoyed doing together will wake up all the good happy memories,
Don't give it up, once you've come to terms with your loss you can keep telling yourself your doing it for him

Got to agree with your there, very kind/true words.
Get yourself back among them coddies, the fresh air,the other lads n lasses out doing what we all love.Your good friend would not want you sat at home whatching the rubbish on the telly, instead while your on the beach/rock mark he will be looking dwn with a smile on his face, thinking there he goes, doing what he love's best..

He'll still be there fishinh with you pal. Just think of it as a time to rember him by going fishing he might just shine down on you and give you some big pigs on a lonely cold nyt.
