If you try this and still have problems try a smaller melting pot and melt smaller amounts of lead, I had this problem once found the pan which I was melting the lead in was to big and although the lead was melting it still wasn't hot enough pour
When heating led up make sure the led has a blue tint also heat the mold but not a long time as you can warp your mold and heating mold gets rid of any moisture
I Use 2 pans one with a few kilo of lead melting away keep topped up and another smaller pan to pour me leads probly enough lead to make 6 at a time keep the flame up on second pan till blue tinge like already said jobs a good un
used to have the same problem before I started to heat the mould up before putting in the lead seemed to be ok after that.
I now tend just to buy a few sinkers of a local lad then you don't have to fanny around trying to obtain lead gas and other odds and ends.
I had the same problems mate, realised I'm not good with traditional methods (I'm a chef not an iron monger lol) so I asked santi for a lee lead melter for xmas, its solved all my problems. This was my first batch of leads using it the other week
