Help with tip ring

Last time out with my M4 evo I noticed the tip ring wasn't sitting in line with the rest. When I have got it back it is spinning round. What is the best way to secure it back on? Cheers

I was thinking of using super glue but wasn't sure. Is it best to remove the tip ring, clean it then put it back on with the glue underneath?

Is hot melt glue the type you get with a glue gun? You push a glue stick in the back and it come out hot the other side? I used it at school many moons ago!!!!

some of the hot melt glue sold for diy purposes has a lower melting point than glue sold by rod building suppliers. Hot weather may cause it to loosen again, especially in the back of a car etc.

Best to clean tip down then cut new glue into small strips and push into tip ring, heat gently with a lighter and slide into place.

Totally agree with micke yiu must always clean the tip area down to the carbon so it is totally cleaned and put the strips in like said push on and hold till the glue oozes out then clean excess glue off seen to many tip guides spin right rkund or come off due to not cleaning properly

Thanks everyone for the advice. Just to clarrify how I understand the best way is to get a glue gun stick, remove the tip ring and scrape any glue off to the carbon. Cut the glue gun stick into slivers to fit around the carbon and warm with a lighter till it ooses out? Have I understand that right?

I usually just put a few slivers in the eye holder, heat that then place back on the tip, hold in place for 30 secs, dont know about the glue gun glue i use the hot melt from the tackle shops.

Can't argue with that mick, sound advice;)
Love the rod builds mick, very high std m8:)

I would personally use the hot melt from tackle shops etc seems to get a more secure fix than hot melt sticks.
Like others have mentioned cut slivers & pack into the tip ring but be carefull when heating up so you don't damage the ring

Yes deffo not super glue. You need to be able to get the ring off again if it gets damaged and the only way to remove cyanoacrylate is with acetone, not the best stuff to steep your rod tip in :o

The hotmelt glue from the pound shop is 'craft' quality and rubbish, if you can't get it from a tackle shop get it from a good diy store checking which grade/purpose of use you buy.

If you see me fishing or are close to Jarrow give me a shout I've always got a lump & a spare tipring in my tackle box just incase.
