i have a kompressor ss and would like to remove the shrink tube
But have been told with it being factory built it will be glued on true or false
If not true do i just use a shape knife

yes mate its normally glued(newer metal banded models) and it is bit of a pain to remove i've done a couple just used a sharpish knife to start it and then my fingers to peel it away but if its anything like mine it was glued all the way down in 1/4 inch strips and this had to be cut away just be careful not to cut into the blank.not sure if theres any other easier way of doing it but hopefully someone on here might know and elighten us both lol.

On a century rod I had it was glued on I got as much off as I could and used the rag soaked in turpentine to rub onto the glue to break it down and was easier to remove with the back of a knife. However if your gonna use any solvents to remove it best check its not gonna damage the rod and handle with care or get a rod builder to replace it.. Or century at Washington to replace it for you.

removed the wrap on 2 conoflex which were glued on and just put the new one over the top and then used just a hot air gun to shrink the wrap

the best way to put shrinktube on is to stretch it as you heat it with the hoy airgun best if thier is to of you as the lad in the previous post said it can twist this eliminates this as your reelseet can move round on the rod.

That must a been the way you done my rod as the shrink tube was smooth as silk, flat as a ducks foot and as tight as a fishes ass. :)
