Me and Phil had a short trip to Hendon tonight after the wind had died down a bit. Not a single person there so we set up on the beach down the bottom end. Got set up by 12 and started fishing with lug and squid. By 2.30 we had nothing, not even a bite so we decided to go home. Just before I packed up I put my sl30sh on my rod to have a few practice casts with it since I've just put new line on it.
As I started the retrieve I felt weight on my rod, I thought it was seaweed or somebodys lost rig, but as it came up the beach it was flapping around. I couldn't believe it when I saw this, must have landed my hooks on top of it and hooked it in the lip haha.
I don't know why I bother buying bait, might as well throw a few hooks in the water and see what I get

i was fishing the prom last night (friday) with my son and a friend FROM 6-30PM 'TIL 10-45PM not a bite between us
