Hendon prom 22/10/2012

Went down hendon prom on monday evening. Got there about 7.30 had nothing for the first hour and a half then I had a small whiting around 9pm. Then I got a steady pull round and a sharp knock forward on the rod tip thought it was another whiting but this felt like a better one. Got it in and swung it cover and bloody hell there was my first codling! it was only about 1 and a half but still I was chuffed with it being my first one bait which caught was sandeel which I was telling the mrs at the time that it was crap! Went back today to try again and not even a sniff funny how the tides change.

What other marks in that area produce more codling? and is saltburn pier worth a bash for them?

try roker pier , fish the barrier bunker or roundhead

Cheers Ive tried roker once before. I just don't like the way it's sometimes locked and you cant get on is it worth fishing the beach next to roker? and is south shields pier worth a go is there any clean ground on ss?
